{ About }

Julien Vallon is a visual artist and author-director. At the intersection of photography, cinema, and writing, his work explores intimate mythologies and the subterranean narratives that shape us. Through a multifaceted practice — installations, films, photographic series, screenwriting — he weaves sensitive connections between body and territory, language and lineage. In his work, each gesture becomes a word, each movement a sentence: the body expresses itself, a language made of attitudes and rhythms.

His series Brutes, a manifesto for a new grammar of the photographic gaze, documents a decade of portraits of the feminine and deconstructs the male gaze from within.

His works have been acquired by the collections of the Musée Rodin and the Musée Bourdelle in Paris. He is currently developing an artistic project for the Mucem in Marseille. Author of several award-winning short films, his first feature film in development, selected for the Groupe Ouest-P&A 2025, is being produced by Minéral Films.
